Moon Setting on the 8th of February

The Full Moon is called the Snow Moon in February, but there is slacking of snow in the eastern portion of the United States this winter.  The weather has been above average on the east coast, especially in North Carolina and the South.  They did have snow in the Atlanta area on Saturday, but on the coast in North Carolina the weather was perfect, on the chilly side but perfect.

I was up early in the morning on Saturday (8th of February) hoping to capture a nice moonset in New Bern.  I didn’t capture what I wanted, mainly because the LCD screen on my camera is broken. It’s like the old days, I’m not sure what the photographic look like until I get home.

I took some pictures of the moon setting over the water, but they did not come as I expected.

I did capture in the morning sky behind me Mercury.  In the following photograph below, Mercury is the bright light in the middle upper portion in the picture.

I used my Nikon D7100 camera with the AF-S Nikkor 55-300mm 1:4.5-5.6 GED VR zoom lens for all the photos.
