The Moon was in Taurus on January 6, 7, and 8th. Because the Moon was beyond the First Quarter (which on January 2nd and 3rd), the sky was too bright to photograph. On January 6th, the Moon was Waxing Gibbous at 82% full, on the 7th the Moon was at 88% full. I am practicing my astrophotography, but it hard because my LCD screen doesn’t work and I can’t tell if I am in focus on live view mode.
At the end of East Front Street in New Bern, there is little park with some small boats and a view of Bridgeton across the Neuse River. I used the Nikon D7100 Camera with Nikon DX AF-S Nikkor 50mm |1.8 G lens
Next Bridgeton across the Neuse River.
The sky was some what dark and I was able to photograph the Ursa Major (Latin for Great Bear) or the Big Dipper.
