August 7th was National Lighthouse Day, but unfortunately I did not get chance to take any picture. I scheduled a dentist appointment on that day. Crazy me. There are some nice lighthouses around too, but I did not think that thru. The weather haven’t been all that great the last two weeks any way. The North Carolina coast was stuck in soggy weather pattern. The jet-stream dip in to the Gulf and ridge came up over the Appalachian Mountain range, therefore that meant a low pressure moved along the ridge and produce record amount a rain and thunderstorm a long the east coast. There isn’t any dough this year.
When it wasn’t raining I tried to use my Nikon D7100 with a Nikon AF-S Nikkor 55-300mm f/4.5-5/6 G ED VR lens.
On Saturday the 4th, I was at Fort Macon. August 4th was the U.S. Coast Guard 228th Anniversary. I was hoping the base would be open for tour. There are several Coast Guard Cutters station there (homeport Fort Macon), but that wasn’t the case. The Coast Guard Cutter Eagle was in Norfolk, VA on Sunday, but I wasn’t able travel to the Tide-Water area over the weekend. I will be checking the Eagle’s schedule for 2019 events.
On August 7th, finally an evening without rain and decided to capture the sunset in Bridgeton along the Neuse River.
